SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Comcast SportsNet has learned that the Oakland Athletics’ ace Justin Duchscherer has been diagnosed with clinical depression. He will not return the the A’s staff this season.
Duchscherer had been scratched from two of his previous three scheduled rehab starts due to a “non-baseball” issue.
The A’s assistant general manager David Forst addressed the media today, saying that the reason for Justin’s missed starts, as well as why he will not return to the A’s staff this season is depression.
